Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to be a part of us at Tygelsjö principal area and who wants to work in the important role of a student assistant!

You will work with one or more students/groups of students in school, preschool class, or after-school care. You will participate in planning, implement, and evaluate the educational work with students together with the responsible educator in accordance with your assignment. You contribute to high quality in the educational content based on the curriculum's goals and intentions. You help promote students' development. The assignment may include care for individual students and/or work with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. You will work based on the documentation provided about students, such as educational documentation or medical action plans. The work as a student assistant involves varied tasks based on the individual assignment's character. Collaboration occurs with other professional groups and functions at the school. If necessary, contact with guardians may also be included in the assignment. Depending on the assignment, the student assistant may work in after-school care, in all school stages, or in preschool class.

Qualifications

As an applicant, you should have completed high school education, with a focus on child and leisure programs or equivalent being considered meritorious. We require that you have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in primary school with students who need special support.

You should have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply these in daily work. This includes a particular understanding of the conditions for students in need of special support based on the needs of the operation.

Furthermore, we see that you have knowledge of how different disabilities affect the student's learning and how to best compensate for these. Knowledge of students with Intellectual disabilities (ID) is meritorious.

As a person, you are flexible and good at building relationships. You have a good ability to apply low-arousal responses in your work with students. Of course, you have a professional attitude and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

The Tygelsjö principal area is located in the picturesque Tygelsjö, about a 10-minute bus ride from Hyllie station. The principal area consists of four units: Tygelsjö School 1 with grades F-1, Tygelsjö School 2 with grades 2-3, Pilbäck School with grades 4-9, and Tygelsjö School's adapted primary school. Approximately 825 students attend the principal area. You will be employed in the principal area and may work within any of our units. Tygelsjö is a residential area consisting of an older center surrounded by newly built areas. We have high qualifications among our teachers and high goal fulfillment and high school eligibility among our students. Our school is characterized by great safety and comfort, as well as good community between teachers and students.
